I definitely recommend doing multiple stories from it if you’re doing something small. That I identify hardcore with. There are no more than 2 characters in each one, and sometimes, one character does not even speak.

I just saw a production of this, and unlike my fellow reviewer, who appreciated it’s depth and power, I and my friend who went with me, were pissed and aggravated at the excess that Autobahn represents. I’m a fan of all Neil Labute- this collection of his however, is probably some of my least favorite Glancing through it again, I’m reminded that I really did like one part of this scene.

Because Labut feel like this scene should have been a fight instead of a silent treatment. I love that LaBute takes him time to let his characters speak about seemingly inane topics, or even words at times. She’s still– – You missed the turn. It bears much of his signature style, but the only two stand out plays in my opinion are the monologue in which a woman coming from rehab explains to her mother that she will go straight for drugs again once she’s home and a play where a couple nekl up to Lover’s Lane so the boyfriend can break up with the girlfriend, only to find that the girlfriend is a totally paranoid about being dumped up there, since it happened to her before and b slightly insane. The first is LaBute’s spare dialogue, which gives away just enough and no more, meaning you’re never certain you’ve come to the right conclusions, though invariably you have.
